Excellent mood captured here John! By the expression on His face He must be playing a moody love song or something slow and mellow! The slight blur gives a nice sense of motion to this photo! Well seen John! My best.......................John

Wonderful study. I have recently photographed street musicians in various countries. I find them very engaging, but I know how difficult it is to get this good a moment in the camera.

Congratulations,
--George

This is our first, but hopefully not last meeting on the pages of "Usefilm", Mr. Miller. I read your bio and looked through your portfolio, opening a photo here and there and meeting a BIP. on my way. You wrote in your bio that you were humble and wanted to learn from seeing others' photos. Having seen your photo I think that at least I, for one, can learn from you. Your photos are colorful and imaginative and the captions you gave them often show your sense of humor. I opted to comment on this excellent portrait not just it was the last photo you posted and hence the first one I saw, but also becuase it shows very well the man's concentation in his music.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio and pay further visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime I thank you for your kind comment on my "Multicolored key chain."
One last question, if I may: what does the AJ in your signature stand for?
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Ah Gianes, what a lovely comment! But I know that you have a far better interpretation of an accordian player in your portfolio, which inspired me to try to capture something similar. I have not yet succeded, but will keep on trying...

Rafi, what a wonderful comment on this image and on my portfolio. I am most flattered, but still maintain that I have lots more to learn. I still forget to look at the details (as was pointed out on my recent "Critical Dimension" - I kicked myself for that). I don't have many guiding principles, but I do think that if I am taking colour photos, then there should be lots of colour in them.

As to the AJ, well that's a bit of an identity crisis I've got myself into at UF. When I signed up, UF wouldn't let me use the name "John Miller" as that was already taken. So I used my initials AJ and started signing myself off as AJ. Then when I became a donor, I was able to change my UF name to John Miller, but I was already known to many freinds as AJ. A brief period of confusion followed, but now I always sign off as AJ. But "John" is just fine as well...

I'll be watching for new images from.

All the best, AJ

Superb portrait, I like it very much.
Wonderful expression on his face that you have captured very well.
I've seen your portfolio and it's full of nice shots, congrats for this: different styles, different projects, different subjects, but always good photos.
Congrats!
Alex
