I like the colours very much, James. Composition is superb. The mountain on right is breaking the monotonousness of horizon and adding beauty to the composition of image. Angle of photography is quite impressive.
Regards,
Rajendra

The perspective is wonderful here. I love the way these bright cloths are fastened to the bow of the boats. You have captured beautiful depth and wonderful color in the photo. Alison

Hi James,

Stunning picture! It looks irreal more like a dream.

James, please I would like your opinion on the lens you are using Sigma 18-50mm.

Cheers Francesco

Colin Cartwright   {K:15699} 7/21/2005
This is beautifully detailed and finely composed, James. The turquoise sea, and the "longtail" boat, beached on the fine white sand, make for a colourful, oriental maritime, photo.

A superb composition. 7

Colin

Fabulous color! WOw - you can't paint a better shot than this. Incredible details in this and I love the way you shot the boats. Splendid work.

Beautiful image, James. I especially like the stripe of brighter aqua-colored water and the darker blue just below the horizon. I was in the area in 2003. Was it affected by the 12/2004 tsunami? -- Naomi

* James *   {K:20200} 8/17/2005
hi naomi, yes ko phi phi was badly affected by the tsunami of 26 december. in fact, it was one of the worst hit areas. i went there just one month after the tsunami (some earlier photos in my portfolio were taken then) and on this second visit a few months later much of the damage was still visible. i also heard several stories of people returning to their property to find bodies floating around inside. very grim indeed. on a positive note, ko phi phi is recovering but slowly. tourism is returning to normal there.... however i wish the island wasn't as developed as it is.... it would be more beautiful as a national park with few or no hotels/resorts.

warmest regards ~ james

I like this composition very much. The large boat close in on the right is well balanced by the two boat a bit farther out on the left. All the boats break the horizon line in the same way, which also se4ems to balance this shot. Great colors and interesting subject matter. Great shot!
