Ah, thanks for the heads-up. some basics to consider:

- 'tis better to underexpose than over, as shadow detail can be restored, but blown out areas are forever lost (of detail, anyway).
- Shooting busy backgrounds like this go for the widest aperature you can, as it will make the background even softer, and your subject pops even more as the foreground.
- I know it's a more expensive option if you still shoot film, but bracketing is very helpful to nail that exposure. Even when you DO shoot film, that's the least-expensive commodity in the chain, so don't be afraid to blow an entire roll just to get one really nice shot.
