Nice composition. Even with the softness of the image, the extraordinary shadow makes this a keeper.

Best wishes,

Hi John! Many thanks for your comment. Yes I was quite high - at the top of a bell tower on Old Town Square, playing at being a tourist in one of my adopted home towns. So I was already pushing the zoom of the A2, and still had to crop the original image quite some. Hence the resulting softness (which I've sharpened as much as I could in PSP9). I would love to have got a sharper image, but am pleasantly surprised by the positive response this image has received.

I'm setting off on the long drive back to Tarifa now, so will be quiet for a few days...

All the best, AJ

John,
There is a lot to praise in this image!
Well seen ... nice capture (subject on the move) ... very well cropped to create a dramatic composition ... and overall, just love the way you got him "riding the edge of the shadow".
Congrats.
Mark

You know what John... I like the diagonal composition of the photo and the cropping... really very intresting and artistic.
I think the softness of the photo added to the mood, good work my friend,
Khaled.

AJ Miller   {K:45790} 7/20/2005
Hi Larissa! You are welcome to play with my pics as much as you like. What did you do here? I had already sharpened a tad and increased the contrast, but maybe you pushed it a little further? Your version certainly has a little more impact...

Regards from Tarifa, where the wind is HOWLING!!!
AJ

Randy Lorance   {K:24958} 7/20/2005
Great shadow captured and nicely cropped with the diagonal layout. I think I do like more contrast.

The shadow play is really interesting in this piece. It is refreshing to see a series / study in one particular subject. It allows the viewers of your portfolio to see your thought process.

Thank you for your comments on "Osaka ferris wheel".
