About This is the second shot from my trial run with my new IR filter - so it too has a central hotspot. Now that I know what caused it - I'll make sure it doesn't happen on my next trip out!

You did a lot better than my attempts, Sally. Myne have gone in the trashcan. I think my filter (Cokin IR) is scratched in some way.

Still, that hotspot is very noticeable. I hope you got the hang of it now because these shots show a lot of promise.

Hi Angelo - I don't believe for one minute that your IR pictures were only good for the bin!
You produce some photos so beautiful - I daren't comment on them.
Can we see some of yours?

Sally Morgan   {K:9219} 7/17/2005
Still no bio Roby? Why not? Tell us more about yourself!

Zeev Scharf   {K:24824} 7/17/2005
Another excellent Ir capture, the scenery is beautiful, very nice composition
My best regards

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/17/2005
Nope. You better believe it. They were rubbish. Huge flares in the middle. Completely unusable. A huge disappointment.

I may try again with a Hoya filter some time in the future, but the Cokin has been resigned to a dusty shelf.

Sally Morgan   {K:9219} 7/17/2005
Were they huge flares like the one on mine?
If so it is simply due to a small apperture - if you use a big apperture - they don't happen.

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:179484} 7/17/2005
have a little patience my dear.. you have a reason.. my promise is a bio!
hugs

You make me want a IR filter, Sally. The hot spot is not a distraction to me in this shot, but I can see why wou woudnt want it.

Frank Beer   {K:10112} 7/20/2005
Excellent shot and trial, Sally!

I like the snow in summer :)

Bye, Frank

Colin Cartwright   {K:15699} 7/22/2005
Ice cold, in July!

These infra reds look great fun, Sally.
The central "hotspot", I think, enhances this scene.

Your excellent image is almost surreal, at this time of year, Sally!

Regards

Colin

Hey sally nice shot. like u have mentioned...there is a very prominent hot spot there. i think for the D70 kit lens...shooting it around F8 gives the best results.

pan giannakis   {K:17087} 9/2/2005
So eerie tones!! Wonderfull image!

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/29/2005
Really gorgeous work Sally, no I haven't done any IR work yet, but thanks for the push I need to do it, and have every intention of doing so..I'm sorry I missed this one, it's lovely, the blue in the sky makes a wonderful contrast. These are the kinds of scenes that I'd want to hang on the wall..nice work, and I'll be sure to let you know when I use my filter..Linda

Sandra Berry   {K:7530} 10/26/2005
Greetings Sally,
Very beautiful image, for a moment in the thumbnail I thought it was a snow laden scene. The hot spot works for me because it looks like the sun is just shining on that one tree, Fine work, Best regards, Sandra
