Paolo,

Let's just say I got the impression he wasn't happy to see me :)

FERDINAND DOTREMONT   {K:6593} 7/18/2005
Very good shot and PS work. Good composed and nice tones.
I thank you allso for the recommandation by my photo "I am comming" - I know you are right, I had to take a tripod but I think I am a little too lazy to take one with me.
Best wishes.
Ferdinand

Thanks for the comment, PJ. I appreciate you taking the time. I see where you are coming from w.r.t. the reflections.

The thing with street photography is that you don't always get to set it up just right. I was also a bit self-conscious and afraid the owner would come to the window and take exception :)

Also, with the bevelled bay window panes I don't think I could have avoided catching the sky. It's just the luck of the draw...

Thanks again!
Angelo.

That's cool, PJ. All things being equal, I wish it wasn't that bright either.

I shouldn't take things so literally.

Ann  Van Breemen   {K:11828} 7/18/2005
great shot, Angelo. Good thing you had your camera ready. Nicely edited and presented. Great title, too. Excellent. Cheers, Ann.

Mark Julian   {K:35624} 7/18/2005
Nice catch - good composition and crop. I think going with B / W was a good choice. Nice job, Mark

Luca Luca®   {K:2429} 7/19/2005
great shot, i like the bw tones, the expression of the dog is very funny:-)
i dont like very much the crop, but is no so important in this case

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/19/2005
Thank you for your honest critique, Luca. I appreciate it.

Please help me improve: what did you not like, and what would you have done differently about the crop?

Thank you again!

Luca Luca®   {K:2429} 7/19/2005
id like a crop like this, where the eyes are not distract with the grey strip in the bottom and left side of the image.
i d like also respect the simmetry with the other whole window on the right side of the picture.
this is what i like but is very evry a personal opinion !
i saw your portfolio and i think u r a great photograph!
i just start to make photo so i only need to learn

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/19/2005
Thank you, Luca. Your sugestion is good. The reason for my crop was to keep the original ratio from the camera (4:3). I used to be more flexible on this, but I am trying to discipline myself to compose better in-camera.

I don't think it matters how long you've been photographing. I am always trying to learn, and I thank you for your contribution.

Regards,
Angelo.

Luca Luca®   {K:2429} 7/19/2005
i completly agree with u about composition directly in the camera...
but i think that sometimes if the photo is very beautiful and only for a little particular loss its beauty .... a bit of crop is indispensable :-)

ciao

Ótima composição, lindo preto e branco. Gostei muito do contraste.

Mary Brown   {K:68582} 7/20/2005
This is really cute. It is so much portrays the character of dogs. They like to keep track of things. Great shot.
Mary
