About I liked the reflections in the water!!

It was actually F/13...Converted to b&w in PS and sepia toned...and I'm not sure of the project to put this in, I picked this one for now..

Wow the nice moody sky and great tones really look nice,I really like the tall perspective fitting all the masts in and cropped perfectly on the sides. The refleciton with a cloudy sky is always nice. keep them coming :)..
Marcus.

You could try the "water" project.

Nice capture, Linda. I like how the masts keep getting longer as you read from left to right.

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 7/19/2005
Great shot, Linda! The symmetry in the composition is wonderful, and kept from being too rigid by the gradual increase in height of the boats' masts and by their alternating orientation. You might try toning down those two brightest areas on the backs of the two boats just enough to give them a touch of detail, but I really like the accents they provide!

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 7/19/2005
p.s. This would be a great addition to the 'Lines' project, too!

John Loreaux   {K:85872} 7/19/2005
Really nice Linda!!! Love the tones!!! Perfect composition as well!!!! A suppose there is always a trade wind blowing to prevent the nice still reflections???!!I like how the masts are angled and the way the bows aof the two boats are lit!!
Do You ride the ferry alot?
I think My family and I are going on a sunset cruise tonight. Looking forward to it! Have a wonderful day My friend! My best...............John

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 7/19/2005
John thank you again for your wonderful comment...yes we have to take the ferry everytime we anywhere, we're on a small island off of the mainland and it's a 5-10 minute ferry ride to the mainland...I took a picture of it yesterday from a street on the mainland, and I'm including it below..we live on the 11th floor in the building on the right, the resizing really altered the image quality on this because it's such a panoramic, it's looks ok at 800 pixels, but not at 500, but at least you get an idea of our location..I hope you enjoy your cruise!! Take care my dear friend...:):)Linda

Thank you for the project suggestion, I went with you and George on that, sometimes it's difficult to know exactly where to put things, so I appreciate your help, and I see what you mean about the light on the stern...good eye my dear, and thank you....un abrazo...:):)Linda

Paolo Corradini   {K:52725} 7/19/2005

Paolo

Alastair Bell   {K:29571} 7/19/2005
Interestin and clever shot Linda! I love the way the masts of the boats all get taller from left to right and then reduce again on the right end! It gives the image a virtual diagonal which is very effective (IMHO). Love the toning too... and yes - this shot is very hard to categorise - I've had the same problem a few times myself! Maybe we need the adminst to create a category of 'The sea'....

Excellent work Linda

Dave Stacey   {K:120236} 7/20/2005
Nice composition, Linda, and I like your choice of toning. It adds sort of a vintage look to the shot.
I think the project fits, too!
Dave.

Nice photo-graphics.

Petal Wijnen   {K:47835} 7/20/2005
Nice shot!!! Love the toning, great angle/view, excellent composition... well spotted/done!!! BTW I like it how you took the trouble/time to put the one boat the other way around and arrange them in order of mast height..... ;-D!!!

Mohamed Banna   {K:34222} 7/20/2005
great nice angle

well done

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 7/20/2005
Thanks Petal I appreciate your comment, but all I did was take the picture, no rearranging...just got lucky there...thanks again...:):)Linda

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 7/20/2005
Thank you Alastair, I appreciate your comment...and I agree a project encompassing the sea and it's elements would be a nice addition to our projects....glad you liked it...:):)Linda

Alison DuFlon   {K:36231} 7/23/2005
I love the sepia in this shot, the lighting is great and the water does have a beautiful quality to it. Alison

Len Webster   {K:22393} 8/9/2005
Nice shot. The sepia toned black and white really helps to create that 'nostalgic effect'.
