About The second in the serie"Remember when..."
Me gustaría poder explicar la idea...
Cuando estás pensando en el pasado, el presente de pone borroso, para "ver" solo el recuerdo.
When you are thinking in the past, the present is blurry, for seeing the remember only.
I hope your true opinion.
Kisses.

I like the curving line of the walkway add to the composition, another interesting 'memories' image
Margaret
I did the photos for a Ruby Wedding [my daughterinlaws parents] I took an original picture of their wedding and managed [by joining halves together] to get shots of them both holding their champagne glasses and merged the two

Tony Diana   {K:13396} 7/19/2005
Interesante idea, un saludo :)

Patrick Jacobson   {K:29151} 7/19/2005
I like the idea here.. works fine with your composition. The name and the tall item on the left side disturbs abit though as my eyes goes there first. An idea i got about your composition here would be to include a person holding that photo you are placing in the composition... aka that he/she is dreaming themselves back in time and shows us their "dream/Memory".

Cheers

Patrick J

Besos,

MaLuisa

Linda Bique   {K:73856} 7/25/2005
Very creative and wonderful idea Maria..I love this concept of yours and it's so very true...our present can often times be clouded by the past...and you're right, we are missing the present if we stay in the past...very nicely done...kisses...:):)Linda

Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42023} 7/25/2005
As I said before, a wonderful composition with creative idea, very well done, cheers,

Bill Morgenstern   {K:7124} 7/27/2005
I like your conceptual approach to "remembering when". What would happen if you turned the B&W inset image to light sepia? Just an idea that could add to the feel of the rememberance.

Bill

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52309} 7/30/2005

Hi Maria,
I am going to try and be honest from my point of view when I write this. Nothing really negative, just a question. First of all, I like the concept of this series a lot. I went back and looked at the first one and one of the things I liked about it was the fact that the old Sepia image was sharp while the present day image in colour was soft focus. My question is... do you think the above image would have been better if you used the same concept. The composition and thought behind the image are great. But, no one in all the comments has mentioned the sepia image is almost as soft as the colour in this one.
Andre

Hi Maria ...

Firstly .. a great concept n idea u got here... remembering the past ... learning from experience...

secondly.. since u also mention this as critique only n true opinion ... i guess I'll make some opinions if i may ...

i think it will make more impact if the image of the b/w child is align with the background image... n no border to be used....

or perhaps .. u can take 2 shots and put it side by side... one in colour without the child ... and the other side in b/w or sephia (or even with dreamy effect) but with more emphasize of the child ...

well... that just IMHO ... ;)

andree lerat   {K:16731} 8/2/2005
The past can often be clearer than the present and before we know it the present has become the past. Nice image Maria. Andree

Paul's Photos   {K:34954} 8/2/2005
nicely done.. like how the inserted image matches the modern image.. good work

Burak Tanriover   {K:16604} 8/2/2005
still nice idea, this frame is better I think.
in my opinion just one person will be enough but they look close friend and so one of them tells his friend hat he remember.
best wishes

Kasia Koltunska   {K:5315} 11/27/2005
Great idea!!! I like this one more than the first one - I think the frame works much better. However, just as you say in your about - the present is blurry. I think Andre commented on this - but I would have liked to see the image of the child to be a bit sharper. But I like the way that the pictures don't completely match up - there is enough symmetry in the curve of the boardwalk to make it work - but I think keeping the picture of the child larger than the color shot makes it work better. One more slight comment is that I would crop it a bit tigher on the left to eliminate the mast in the background.

Once again - great idea!!!

Kasia
