Gorgeous Laurie, as always, love everything about this. Superb!! What a delightful background and composition..How close did you get..just curious haven't used that lens yet, and is there a reason that you used that one over another one for this particular picture? Still collecting information on how to use all of the lenses...and as you know I love your work....well done...:):)Linda

Wow.. this is superb... crisp details, irridescent colours and lovely composition. The eye in particular is pin sharp (and for wildlife photography that is the key to a good image).

Seems you had a great time there and have captured a load of excellent images!

Excellent

Thanks Alastair! We did have a great time and I got a chance to take a load of pictures on that trip. In terms of these hummingbird shots, I probably would never have a chance to get them "in the wild" so it was great to sit for a while in the aviary. Although they were still a bit of a challenge to get even in an enclosed space! :)

Carolyn Wiesbrock   {K:14051} 7/22/2005
This is fabulous..its not often that we catch
the hummingbird perching like this!

L. Gould   {K:11900} 7/22/2005
Linda,
I was between 6-12 inches away from this little guy. I used the 100mm macro because (as you know) it captures great details. Also, I like the background blur on the 100mm macro better than the 28-135. :)

Colin Cartwright   {K:15699} 7/24/2005
That was kind of him! When I try, they move - as do most animals.

This is a beautifully composed shot. The detail of the gold-green plumage, of this lovely little bird, is superbly and skilfully done.

Focus, exposure and depth of field are first rate.

Another one for my favs. 7.

You have an impressive and varied portfolio, Laurie.

Regards

Colin
