About When we sold the restaurant I was worried I had lost my opportunity to get some good hummingbird shots. We moved the feeders to the house (which is only about a 1/4 mile from the restaurant) and within a week all the birds found there way to my backyard.:) Incredible.

Shutter Speed 1/750 sec.
Focal Length 200 mm.

Enjoy

Great colours, the slight blur on the wings adds to the image

WOw that detail is amazing! Simply wonderful work here. I love the DOF on this - was it blurred or added blur?
Thanks for your comment on Perfect Form. :)

James Bambery   {K:13421} 7/21/2005
Thanks Cheryl. No, that is the natural blur of the shot. 1/750 sec. is just not quite fast enough to stop a hummers wings:)

Superb image, James. Hummingbirds make such great subjects. I never see them around here. The detail is excellent in this shot as is the color.

Amazing capture in mid air, he looks so beautiful with all the metallic shine. Alison

Joe Johnson   {K:7893} 8/26/2005
Heck of a presentation in the photo. Fine suggestion of copper tarnish with the red. The background fades, suggesting even a honeycomb, and keeping the eye in the center. Nice clean focus. An excellent photo.

James Bambery   {K:13421} 8/26/2005
Hi Joe, thanks for all of your wonderful comments. I just checked out your portfolio and you have some pretty awesome photo's youself. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more.
