The light is usually good late in the afternoon, where they were floating. I also had a diffusion filter on, so I'm sure that effected the image a little.

Hi Marcus,
I have had my camera with me a couple of times. I got some shots of a heron, but decided not to post them because of the background. I'll be going up after work tonight and will try again. I tried using a plastic bag to protect the camera, but by the time you get it out and set up, the birds or animals have left. :)

Some images really surprise me in a positive way when you convert them to greytones. It is amazing what a little levelling and toning can do to a simple shot sometimes. I was very pleased with the results of this one.
