She looks like a warm and lovely lady. I'm not sure the horizontal composition with her head cropped works that well. You may try making this a square so it feels a bit more balanced all around. Could stand a little contrast and darkening too.

Thanks for the suggestions, Louise.

Louise Vessey   {K:13859} 7/24/2005
No problem. I played with it to show you what I had in mind. Hope that's okay.

cropped and tweaked

It's very much okay! I do like the square look and you've brought much more colour into the face. Thanks!

Len is this a portrait of a family member - great smile and nice portrait, I little bright - if you would like me to work on it - I will keep it on file until I have time

Margaret, thanks for commenting. I'd be delighted to see any improvements you might make.

With thanks

Len I keep forgetting to attach the amended image I did, - you have probably forgotten about it by now .....

Len Webster   {K:22393} 9/30/2005
Hi, Margaret! That's great!! No, I hadn't forgotten, but I thought you might have done - I know you're very busy and I appreciate this improvement on my original. THANKS!!!

As you see, Louise did something similar, too. I seem to have attracted two great editors!

Best wishes,

Len

Unfortunately didn't get to see Louise's attachment as it doesn't show up Margaret

Len Webster   {K:22393} 10/2/2005
Yes, for some reason it disappeared shortly after I wrote that! Never mind - and thanks again.

Best wishes, Len
