About This is another heron shot taken in the early morning. I wish I hadn't left his legs out, but it was such a nice close up of his body that I thought I would post it anyways. So if this is absolutely a no no, just let me have it. I will learn from your comments. Thanks

You can crop all you want. It is up to you what you want to show in a great picture like this. I might have been inclined to make a verticle of this picture. Don.

Great shot. You had a lot of fun that morning. Joe

I have no problem with the cropping as it forces my eye to look more at his head, which if intentional is very effective. One thing though I find that it might intrigue my eye just a little more if the bird was a little more off center ....say more to the right. But that is just my way of seeing things. One more thing, since you did crop the legs and I am engaged more with the head area I find that the focus is not sharp enough in that area...maybe try unsharp mask for the head in 20% increments till it holds the eye more effectively.

nice capture... it is ok about the legs, maybe you can crop more so that is not as obvious... a bit soft but nicely composed.... good work

I sure do appreciate your honest, and helpful critique. I have really been having a problem with getting a really sharp shot. But am working on the problem...thanks for your help, and I will try your suggestion. Keep them comming please...that's how we learn.

Teresa This is so good, love the background the texture and colours of the tree trunk set the heron with it's gret detail and colour tones off so well
