Beautiful work Chris a lovely scenic for sure. I guess I caught this before you had a chance to show the original, but this one is a beaut without even seeing th original.

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 7/25/2005
No flip, Nigel!
Just a lot of work with levels, feathered selections, contrast and hue & saturation.
Best regards, Chris

Roger Williams   {K:83282} 7/25/2005
Your enhancement of the original shot is most skilled. I am impressed. I have a few shots that could use this treatment...

Carolyn Wiesbrock   {K:14051} 7/25/2005
Gorgeous, love the reflections and the
way the beach provides a dividing line
in the composition.
Absolutely beautiful!

Nigel Watts   {K:11045} 7/25/2005
Didn't see the original, the white centre band looks almost like part of the frame. Like 2 separate images, the lower one being made from the upper image. A montage
Nigel

Larry Quigley   {K:12884} 7/25/2005
Wonderful work with the PS, Chris! A great job of removing the haze and putting color into the picture. The final result is certainly a keeper. Perhaps you could do a step by step on one of your pictures as a tutorial for some of us recent converts to digital. Best wishes and thanks for your comments, Larry.

Beautiful in every respect, wow, mesmerzingly so.

Mary Brown   {K:68582} 7/25/2005
It's a beautiful scene in the original-soft and gentle tones; but, yes, lacking a little oomph. Your PS work brings out vibrancy and life. Great PS work.
Mary

Petal Wijnen   {K:47835} 7/25/2005
Well now Dr. Spracklen, looks like your resuscitation attempt worked!!! Nice 'rosy' cheeks... ;-D!!! Lovely vibrant colors (just enough), great view, reflection (well done on those colors too...) and composition... good (ER) job!!!

Lukasz Kuczkowski   {K:14684} 7/25/2005

PS CS????? (Pastor Spracklen, Carole Spracklen?)

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 7/25/2005
Excellent work, strong colors and contrast are just after my fancy (you know). Interesting that you got a result I would have tried to get with layer masks and blending modes rather than with levels, contrast, and hue. A good example that often there are more than one possible techniques in PS

Regards

Carsten

Toshi    {K:12024} 7/25/2005
Beautiful landscape shot Chris, I wouldn't have known you touched it up in PS, looks so natural! Excellent reflections and colors, great capture.

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 7/25/2005
Thank you so much for your encouraging comments, Mary
I look forward to your next upload.
Best regards, Chris

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 7/25/2005
Many thanks, Carsten! I just haven't really mastered the different blending modes yet! But I shall work on it!!
Best regards, Chris

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 7/25/2005
Instead of more talk on saturation, which has been pretty well discussed, I will just say that sometimes it's not a sin to have symmetry in a photograph. This is certainly an example of a good thing that can result.

julie hugill   {K:6329} 7/25/2005
Excellent result Chris love them both great ps work !!
Cheers Julie

Khaled Mursi Hammoud   {K:52604} 7/25/2005
Wowwwww... so clear image with amazing golden color tones.
Great ps work my friend,
Khaled.

Dave Stacey   {K:120236} 7/26/2005
A stunning difference, Chris! Probably more what your eye was telling you, you were seeing when you took the shot!
Dave.

Neil Dolman   {K:26883} 7/26/2005
Hi Chris, isn't that cheating? :)
Seriously... nice PS work although i find it a little too unreal, but maybe i'm biased because you've shown the orig.

Best wishes Neil

Clifton Jones   {K:11154} 7/26/2005
Beautiful...................................................
Clifton......

Alastair Bell   {K:29571} 7/26/2005
Excellent Chris and a dramatic improvement on the original! Only one small negative - it looks like a small amount of noise has crept into the image - most noticeably in the reflected trees. Apart from that though, the colours are stunning, the clarity spot on and the reflections are awesome.

Alastair

Hanggan Situmorang   {K:37824} 7/26/2005
Viva PS!!!

Fabrizio    {K:2543} 7/26/2005
...unbeliveable work in PS....I would like to be able to do it!!!....I don't Know where to start!!!!....
regards Fabrizio

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/26/2005
Chris,

As far as I am concerned you did nothing more than a good colour printer (and I mean a man who prints from an enlarger, not a machine) would do with a negative of the same quality as your original.

DSLRs are designed to capture all the detail. We then "print" those details into an image.

You did a very good job. Love the composition with the reflections and also the colours that you got out.

Carol Cefalu   {K:7506} 7/29/2005
WOW...DO you use a nd (Neutral Density)filter Chris?
Thats amazing PS Skills!

naylor .   {K:734} 7/30/2005
What can I say. I love the job you've done on this. Thanks for sharing...
