great tones Thilo...i probably wouldn't have caught on that it was even an IR shot. seems tilted left to my eyes. what a serene scene you stumbled upon.

Thilo,
I like the way this shot is composed. There is a lot of stuff going on in this picture.
All the little details in the middle are quite crisp and clear, adding to the interest of the image. The positioning of the boats on the right side is perfect and the effect of the IR on the trees make it look like they are in blossom.
Great shot.

Like this Thilo, whatever IR is? :) Do you use an IR filter or is this all PS? Anyway i like this as i've said. Maybe a little too tightly cropped but i assume there was something restricting the room on the right?
Best wishes Neil

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 7/26/2005
Hi Neil,

IR is done with a Hoya R72 filter, so no PS here ;-)

As for the viewpoint: You are probably right, but this was the best I could with a 18mm (x 1,5) and not getting wet ;-)

An interesting view and composition, and it works very well in IR, too. The IR looks have enhanced an already nice and pleasant view and composition.

Good work, Thilo.

This has a very melancholic feel to it...wow...and so beautiful, I love the soft effect of the long exposure and the richly contrasting tones are wonderful...the lone boat sheltered by the beautiful tree branches is more than lovely, and the composition is excellent with even the reflections on the water pointing back to your wonderful boat...to my favorites for sure...:):)Linda
