About As I was driving along the highway, going out of Jasper to see what would be interesting for the last of the day photo shoot, I came across this wonderful meadow that was lit up with the warm glow of the late afternoon sun. What can I say .... all alone wandering through the grass smelling the crushed sage below my feet made for some great last moments before the evening air whisked in with the cool moisture of the moon's rising

What a fabulous shot Tim. It really captures the feel of the last rays of the sun. Lovely composition with the large tree on the right catching the eye as the eye wanders across the skyline, and the red tree in the left foreground balances it out perfectly. And what amazing light...

you definitely reached it at the right time...the late afternoon sunlight is really nice! and i like the way the background of this shot has four very distinct layers...sky, cloud, trees and grass...and they all contrast against eachother really nicely and there is a wonderful mix of colors and textures! and then the few trees in the foreground create something to focus on in front of such a lovely backdrop! great work as always! That late afternoon light is a wonderful element in many of your images, Tim, and this one is no exception. I like the contrasting colours of the red trees with the green, too! A very poetic "about", as well!
Dave.

Hi Jim,

I don't have a hose @ the moment I live in Plymouth....Voyager. Just bopping around. for the last 2 weeks I was given the use of a studio in Jasper and will be here off and on for awhile. so I paint @ night and then take pics during the day. A nice combo. As to where I will be living this winter it's hard to say, I am looking for another interesting community to explore.

What awesome lighting... those trees ae glowing red (probably from beetle kill) and the mountains look so luminous.
I haven't been out hiking that much this year, as my husband has a bad hip and has been using a cane to get around (he's only 30!) so we haven't gotten out many places. I'm hoping his MRI will get him on the road to recovery and next year we can explore again.
This scene makes me want to leave work and get out into nature! Thanks for sharing!

Sorry to hear about your husbands hip i hope it works out for the better for you two. But hey you can still drive to so many great places here as well. I am heading down to Waterton Nat. Park after this. It is so amazing just from the vantage of the road.....
Cheers, tim

Sounds like you had an ideal time Tim. The lighting is absolutely amazing and my eye goes from the main central part to the small patches of light going up the mountain, beautifully taken and wonderful color. Alison

You are out in the nature in a perfect time Tim. Don?t go back to my portfolio! I have not been on UF in a long time and have so much to see. I see here now that i missed a lot of real beauty! So many many wonderful images. This one are great and have a magic light.

Jeanette
