About Sunset over the Black Canyon - mixed four stopped exposures to get a graduated approach. Zone masking and applied levels. Popped the saturation a bit.

hhaha i knew who's image this was even as a thumbnail. what a VISTA!. man you must of been in heaven for a short while before you had to head back to the land of Dorithy in the land of OZ.

beautiful textures, colours, and mood.

mike, you already know what i think of this vista. however, i'd like to point out something we discussed before. namely that waiting for the right light does wonders for any photo. the dark clouds and golden color of the sky make this much more interesting. is this the HDRed image you told me about? came out great, although i would say more saturation and a bit less sharpening.

take care,
tom

Tom:

No HDR - this is all copy and paste in layers followed by the eraser tool.

Man, I just have the urge to sharpen the final uf image - I just gotta... there is so much detail lost in a 6 MP image and the sharpening pops some of it back out.

The saturation I can agree on - this is Adobe 1998 and I'm too lazy to convert it to RGB before posting, so there is a bit of a wash out, esp. with reds in the sunset...
