A wonderful capture Petal! I love the polka dot eyes and the deep purple flower! There are butties over there, you just got to look for them I guess. My friend from The Netherlands is always doing insects and butterflies!
I can just imagine you running from bush to bush! LOL! I can hear the stage whisper... Don't look now, but there is a crazy lady over there in the bushes Officer... ;)

Poor thing does look like he has been in a few scrapes - I am sure he appreciated being photographed -perhaps that's why he paused slightly longer than his other more beautiful friends LOL. What a great capture it is though lovely detail and colours

Oh, I've been there! I can't tell you how many times I have been the crazy lady running with the camera from flower to flower. It's amazing how silly I'll let myself look if I chasing a good shot.
It looks like your efforts have paid off on this one. Even though he seems a bit worn, he is beautiful. Great colors and dof. Really well done. :)
