Hi Andre,

nice catch and great title ;-) like the bold outcome. perhaps a bit more room at the bottom?

best wishes,
Thilo

Andre Denis   {K:57024} 7/28/2005
Hi Thilo,
Funny you should say that about needing more at the bottom. It's one of the things I couldn't make up my mind on. I'll attach a rough sample to this so you can see more of the image. (The image quality is not as good) When I look at most others in my own portfolio, I usually do leave about a third at the bottom up to the main subject. My idea was to bring the eye down to the bird's head and peanut. But maybe it wasn't necessary to cut so much away?

This is fabulous and I'm looking forward to my purchase (when I can afford it) of a long lens so I can capture nature like this.
Very beautiful!

Andre Denis   {K:57024} 7/29/2005
Thanks for the compliment Carolyn,
A lot of the photos in my portfolio are taken with the first digital camera that I purchased. It is by no means the finest quality lens. But it sure is a versitile little camera. The auto zoom feature is rated up to 10x optical zoom or 22x digital. I don't often use the digital range because the quality drops off substantially. The camera also has a macro setting. It is a 3 megapixel (6 interpolated ) whatever that is supposed to mean? I am looking forward to getting a Nikon D70 or D100 with a wide angle lens. I have a Nikkormat FTN with the 50mm and a 70-150mm zoom. So, apparently you can use those lenses with the new DSLRs (except the auto features)
Still, the little Fuji never fails to amaze me.

He's beautiful Andre! Their colors are so amazing and you captured them perfectly! Great image!

Andre Denis   {K:57024} 7/29/2005
Hi Darlene,
It's funny, sometimes a bird that is so common to the area we live in is just taken for granted. We often overlook them and forget that to most of the world they might look exotic.

Know what you mean Andre. We've got quite a few here that come to the feeder in the back yard and I usually take them but my feeder is not the prettiest thing!

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 7/29/2005
Hi Andre,

maybe you could leave at least a tad more of the wood?
