About Subject background: Beware! Toys are kept in cages, with minimal sun, food and social contacts! They are thrown at walls, get beaten, replaced by new toys with blinking lights. But now they strike back! Beware! They unite themselves. "Us are toys" is the slogan that can be heard in the streets. Can you hear it?

PS concept: Holga, you know. =)

This is great! Love the subdued color, the vignetting is fun! Really cool!

LOL...Thilo, this was worth "staying tuned"!...great Holga subject with cool colors, darker contrast level and of course the vignetting...the perspective makes this one even more special...love the "Us are toys" slogan ;>
Good job with a whimsical subject,Thilo!
hugs,gayle

Thilo,
The creamy soft look of the beige bricks really adds to this photo. It's a nice contrast to the colours and sharpness of the toys. Great angle.

Brilliant and twisted! I like how the round railing works with the round viginetting.. makes a very surreal feeling.

Jim Budrakey   {K:22954} 7/29/2005
Wow! Neat. "Us are toys" is a scary statement.

Angelo Villaschi   {K:49617} 7/29/2005
A very odd-looking fountain.

Interesting angle for your composition, Thilo. Did you try a little lower, as well, putting the whold fountain inside the bars?

"Us are toys" is a great warcry! :)

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 7/29/2005
Hi Angelo,

I thought it was a good idea to leave some hope for the toys in the picture =)

Terrific shot--very witty and most intriguing. I guess that the Holga actually suggests subjects that you might not consider with a camera higher up the tech chain . . .

--George

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 8/1/2005
This really screams Holga of course but the strongest impact for me is the subject itself. Again it is a good match to the technique.

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 8/2/2005
very cool..love this !

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 8/4/2005
So you like the new "N" camera? Not bad at all. I like the bulb switch. This is a 7 out of 7. I just am crazy about the repeating lines and that surreal object in the center. You can't get any better with the composition. A favorite, and it would be a shame if it doesn't win a BIP or EC now or in the future. Congrats.

Kevin Collier   {K:19076} 8/4/2005
I love the color and presentation in this image - I am positive when one shoots witha Holga new scenes emerge before ones eyes or perhaps the Holga itself is magic and opens the world that remains unseen for other cameras - great one here - again I love the color - K

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/4/2005
Hi Mark,

thanks a lot for the supporting words and the fave! this means a lot to me. more than a BIP ;-)

great subject caught my eye right away. subdued color fits the bill of the subject! I love the motion created in the fence because of the holga vinette and your perspective! Can't wait to receive my holga I'm soooo excited!
