A very treatening sky. Great mood. Don.

nice shot Carsten, ever consider 16bit? The clouds at the horizon seem like they are being pushed a lot. Maybe 16 bit is the way to go for you ?

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 7/29/2005
Thanks Neil for stopping by ! Actually, it was 16bit from RAW but wide dynamic range despite grad ND filter (had my 3stop grad ND not at hand). The best approach would have been a tripod and three to four shots for exposure bracketing, then composite in PS....

Very beautiful and moody photo. Good composition and the clouds are very impressing.
Well done.
Ferdinand

Beautiful terrain...very rich. I cropped a little differently for the sweet spot in my mind's eye.

Antonia, we had the same thoughts... I was thinking about a square format, too, but I thought I should have made two landscapes, another for the sky to put more emphasis on the drama in the sky... BUt I like your idea, too

Shane O'Neill   {K:3064} 7/29/2005

I love how the dark clouds and hills draw us into the center of the shot and the beautiful sunlit hill which leads our eye down through the valley below. Beautifully taken Carsten. Alison
