About Subject background: A scene at "Rock im Park" (RIP) seen thru the Holga... I transported the film not a full frame but ca. 80% of it so that three pictures overlap partly. Hope you like the weird outcome ;-)

i like the weird look, extra ordinary touch to it. Lovely colors and perspective too.

I like this effect - I saw a website one day where there were tons of images produced in this psudo-pano effect - well seen - kev

ricardo longhi-frantz   {K:9648} 7/29/2005

cool!

Magnus Beierlein   {K:1511} 7/29/2005
I like the panorama view with all the effects....the outcome, with the overlapping and the Holga "smudges" adds to the picturing of friendly chaos that always is present at rock festivals. Put some longer hair on them Germans, remove the buildnings and let half of the people get undressed and we've got a Woodstock-cloning.

Very good and innovative work

Magnus

Todd Miller   {K:16464} 7/29/2005
wonderful result Thilo...you must have shot these 3 pretty quickly, doesn't look like people moved too much. the weird look is great here. it'd be interesting to mess around with the colors a bit here, to make it even weirder. i just looked up the concert schedule...looks like it would've been fun!
best wishes Thilo, and have a great weekend.
Todd

Hey Todd,

yes, I was very quick here. it took me about half a second to wind the film and make the next shot. So I was very lucky to get a good transition between the pics. thx for the great comment and have a good WE as well!

Thilo

Liz Wallis   {K:25676} 7/29/2005
This is very well produced...I like the effect that it has, as it adds to the crowded mass of people, and the feeling that you get when in a place like this...well seen and captured Thilo, and well worth the effort.
Liz

Thilo,
It is an interesting effect that kind of adds to the semi-chaos and disorder of a festival type event. Good idea.

Some cool stuff you are trying, Thilo.

Interesting effect you got, with only partial double exposure. I'm not sure how much I like it, but it is very interesting and creative.

Do you come up with these weird and wonderful ideas all by yourself?

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 7/31/2005
es erinnert mich an den einen oder anderen Besuch bei Rock am Ring in der Eifel...das Gefühl solcher Konzert hast Du sehr passend eingefangen...

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 7/31/2005
Hi Angelo,

it's Chrissie and me playing around with the technique... In this case, I was inspired by some websites that did that overlapping things. ;-)

Thx, Thilo

Ahmet Baki Kocaballi   {K:13627} 7/31/2005
Hi Thilo,
very nice capture,
and great crowd composition,
like the combination of images,
and you seem to love Holga very much :)
cheers
Baki

Wonderful Panorama Thilo... The overlaping looks weird and very interesting...I can't say if I like it or not... Nice you have captured the scene so quickly... with moving folks all around it is hard to get the stillness the image has...

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 8/1/2005
Hi Thilo - I think this one is excellent and just the thing to do with your Holga - somehow the scene itself seems particularly suited to this experiment. I am very impressed with the seams, especially the match between frame one and two. I am a little surprised to see that the exposure in the overlapping regions seems to be almost the same as in the singly-exposed parts - I had expected a stop relative overexposure there...
I got some good comments from Hansi Linderoth on one of my Holga shots in which I kept the film markings (as you have done here) - it may be of interest to you as well. http://www.usefilm.com/image/818589.html

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 8/2/2005
Hi Stefan,

thx a lot for the indepth feedback. I know your image very well, and I commented on it with the words "I did some multiple exposures over the weekend" =) this is the outcome.

I was very much surprised with the frame 1 => 2 outcome as well, as it's nearly perfect. I didn't use and tripod but my knee to go around with the cam. beginner's luck, I guess ;-)

Thilo

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 8/2/2005
excellent !

Hello Thilo,

Good idea to use this technique here - conveys place and mood superbly. You've got great elements in it from foreground to the sky. Gee, the more I look at it the more brilliant it gets! /Rgds Hansi

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 8/4/2005
It works really well. Either they were not moving quickly, or you were winding the film really fast. Panos with this camera are just great.

Marcio Janousek   {K:19361} 8/4/2005
very nice pic and moment:)
