About (please read the first photo before this)
...This beautiful archeological discovery began to eat at my soul. Really. I knew it was within a block or two of where I kept searching, but I found nothing.

Finally, I decided to rely on the power of Community. I get my widest shot of the three and proceed to e-mail it everyone in my company, promising a lunch at the place of their choosing if they could just end my torment and tell me where me and my camera can have resolution and peace.

A co-worker sent the photo to her husband, who used to run the paper route for the San Antonio Express News. He glanced at it and instantly recognized this beautiful relic. Finally, at the intersection of S. Alamo and Interstate 10, I find my apparition awaiting me.

(Tim says he's looking forward to lunch at Morton's Steak House, as he's never been there).

....Paul, gotta cut back on the C-span, it's messin' with your memory (I know, same thing happens to me) Interstate 10, you can drive that all the way to the Pacific Ocean - was I 10 mentioned in the Transportation Bill? I think I remember Humble as a youngster. You have to look at it 2 ways - in those days you couldn't run in and get a beef jerky and a 32 ounce Cobra at the mini market. So it's half a dozen of one / 5 of the other...wait, no 7 of the other.......ummm....is that right? C-span, man - it's a messin'...

Great story, I've done that. Taken a shot, then decide to go back and can't find it. Good solution you had, cool shot.
By the way, what images did you win the photo contest in S.A. with?
Ann :)

The 'phantom dive' can start to gnaw on ya, can't it Ann? Hehe.

I won grand prize with one that surprised me, as it was not my favorite by a long stretch, but never look a ...gift 20D in the ...lens, I've decided to say. It was a shot of the Emily Morgan:
