Good to see someone else have fun with pencils/shavings :)
I really like this in B&W, it creates a nice bold contrast and helps it jump out at you.

I got my lens just a few weeks ago....I was very inspired by your shots and hopefully i haven't ripped anything off......tried to concentrate on the actual shavings

Hi Magnus, I think it's great that you did some of these shots.
It's always fun to see how others approach a same type of subject.
Looks like your new lens is working out great :)

wish I could describe what I like about it, but it's just so wild, and beautifully simple. It's like two extreme's

George Black   {K:101993} 7/31/2005
Superbly done! The strong contrast in b&w makes for a very dramatic and memorable image.

Hi Magnus,

I opted for the sigma 150mm DG macro instead, because I could not realistically afford the 200, and I needed the working distance of at least 150mm so as to capture flying insects that are slightly skittish. I am however, impressed by the exquisite detail in this shot, the micro nikkors are legendary for a reason (I have the 60)! Congrats on the BIP, well deserved.

Telmo Domingues   {K:9639} 8/8/2005
heheheh...
Same photographer, different stuff!... From pure emotions to simplicity in shapes, lines and colors (tones)... Great... I like a lot these minimal approaches to everyday objects... this think these photos are good to enhance other ways of looking around the world... (do you know Gerhard Hoogterp portfolio?) I mean... I never saw beauty in these sharpening pencil stuff... You did... Thanks for teaching!
The only thing I would change is that I would have moved the camera a little to the letf, showing a little bit more of the pencil... Maybe... Anyway this is great!

Mohamed Banna   {K:34222} 8/8/2005
congratulations
