About The Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information, and Intelligence Sciences, designed by architect Frank O. Gehry, officially opened its doors on May 7. The building houses the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) and the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy. Over 1000 students, faculty and staff now call Stata home.

The Stata Center is built on the site of MIT's beloved Building 20, a "temporary" timber-framed building constructed in World War II and later re-christened the "Magical Incubator" by its residents. Like Building 20, it is hoped that Stata will be a breeding ground for new ideas and innovative research.

Thank you Mohamed. It is a beautiful building but very hard to capture because it is situated amongst other buildings making it impossible to photograph the whole structure. I am glad you liked it. Regards, Andree
