This somehow embodies all that is English about the countryside... Quaint villages, characterful cottages, people meeting and talking on the bridge. Excellent shot Chris - proper chocolate box/postcard material!

Larry Quigley   {K:12884} 8/3/2005
Anoher of your great pictures that looks more like a painting than a photo. The colors are so vivid. Best wishes and thanks for comments, PS my wife got an atlas at the library this afternoon specifically so she could locate some of the places you mention. Larry.

Chris, the Cotswolds were HOME to me... I know this place so well. Great reminder of my youth. It doesn't seem to have changed. (Well, I remember thinking that the TV aerials jarred, rather, and they seem to have disappeared... but perhaps you have cloned them away? Or maybe they are banned, now. You seem to have taken out the telephone lines, leaving the telegraph pole. )

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 8/4/2005
I took all the aeriels out, Roger! Ugly things!
All except the rather odd one that you thought was a telegraph pole. It shows up better on the hi-res version, but it's actually a most unusual kind of elevated aeriel!!
Best regards, Chris

John Beavin   {K:4477} 8/5/2005
Gorgeous Chris,But what an awful name for a village?

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 8/5/2005
Yes, it is, John! And there's a Lower Slaughter, too!!
Thanks for the comment.
Best regards, Chris
