About Simple beach cabans on the beach of Ouistréham. I know that the black and white planks break the uniformity of the whole, but I like the simplicity and the feeling of loneliness of this picture.
what do you think about?

I really like it Fabrice, you've captured some real desolation here, your title is quite creative as well ;)

Jaume Estela   {K:258} 8/3/2005
Many things to comment on this shot.

the loneliness of the three cabans.
the sadness transmitted by the b/w
the break of uniformity of the black line
the stylish vertical lines of the front walls

It has 'something'...

Fabrice Gourbilleau   {K:53288} 8/3/2005
Many thank to you Jaume as you have written exactely what I feel looking at this picture.. :)
Thanks..
Fabrice

Wonderful geometic lines, and it does convey a sense of loneliness, very well done.

Fernando Martins   {K:-527} 8/3/2005

Fabrice, I really like the feel of this. It has a certain 'Je ne sais quoi' as they say in England! I like the contours of the roof lines, the starkness of the white walls and the symmetrical composition which is broken by the differing bases on these huts. The vertical lines provide a superb counterpoint to the strong horizon. There is definitely a strong feeling of being deserted, alone in a vast emptiness of sand. Wonderful image mon vieux!

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59907} 8/3/2005

It?s like a place where the time stand still!!!

Excellent Fabrice!!!
You even make beach huts look great in B/W...
Marie

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 8/4/2005
I know what you mean with the breaking part...if looking at toy houses I would swap position one with two to make it more balanced... ;)

not really possible...

could be a start of a serie á la Hilla and Bernd Becher...

Cheers,
Verena

Tony Diana   {K:13396} 8/4/2005
Me encant la composición, pese a lo centrado del tema

giovanni guido marchi   {K:26066} 8/4/2005

Beautiful simplicity; very good tones!

Femke de Wit   {K:5172} 8/5/2005
This are the pictures I like the most.As you said, simple but strong and beautiful in B&W.
If it's disturbing you the black plank, you can make it white in PS, but it's not disturbing me.
Regards, Femke

The interruption in pattern by the black and white planks is what makes this sing in my view. This is just right and very enjoyable. Peaceful. Antonia.

Armen Jamkotchian   {K:5879} 9/9/2005

Eh!

a bientot

It is precisely what you allude in the ?about? that makes this compelling. Great visual elegance and compositional tact - which is what often happens with your photography.
Always a treat to stop here Fabrice! I must visit more often? ;-)

Maurizio Massetti   {K:30286} 8/8/2006
I've been in Normandie and I have many shot of your country in my portfolio... this is the kind of scene that I prefer, there's a minimalistic taste, a delicate play of b-w tones, a perfect balancing of lines. Very good, my friend!

Fabrice Gourbilleau   {K:53288} 8/8/2006
Did you put some picture of what you took in France in your porfolio? I will take time to analyse them..
Anyway thank you vey much for spending time on my work.
A dopo
Fabrice

Very nice work

Mark Hamilton   {K:8384} 9/12/2006
I too love the simplicity of this image. It is interesting how there seems to be a lack of depth in this image the huts appear to lay flat against the background sky..... nice work.
