There musta been a lot to look up at, on this trip. ;) Beautiful tones, as always! Great "pose", lovely expression... Too bad about the background being soo busy. :) Beautiful, regardless though!

Great shot! I absolutely love this! She is adorable and I love her expression... the emotion in this is very strong and the color adds a lot to it! Excellent work! :)

Slightly different from your style, David, in term of the higher contrast; but I love it..:)
Very nice expression, and I think the contrast suit well with her pose, somehow. Lovely BW and tone, my friend :)

I love this, David! The way she is fiddeling with her flip flop and grasping the edge of the table (?). Love the tones and the look that you captured! Very nice!
Regards, Kathy

this is a really nice truly candid shot! i seem to be drawn to shots of my kids as they "ponder" something (like your shot here)...i always want to know what they are thinking. like your tones as always.

WOW!! I can't tell you how much I love this one, David. Is that a new lens? This shot just couldn't be any better. It's perfect! 7

Une belle tonalité et un contraste plus marqué par rapport à ta production de portraits David...l'expression du visage est très intense et très vraie...bravo David..très bon portrait..

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 8/5/2005
thanks Jan! I'm very glad you like this shot. When I worked on it I had some of you latest portairs in mind and it influenced me a lot. Especially the look of the sharpening using the high pass filter. Actually the new "smart sharpening" in Photoshop looks very much light the high pass filter method.

Its not a new lens, its still my good old and favorite 50/1.4. Its a phantastic portrait lens on a digital SLR. The background (the forest) is so beuatifully lit that this lens creates this wonderful DOF look. Its one of the reasons I loved to take photos there so much. The light not only for the subject itself but also for the background was so nice.
