About Well... if it is set a the right position (90?CCW) the photo looses alot (if it has something to loose!..) This way I think that the lines, different colors and lightins offer some visual interest... Anyway...

Hi Telmo, quite unusual. I think that the 90deg. CCW rotation makes the shot much more abstract, it removes the instinctive recognition of the geometry of the staircase, and allows the viewer to focus more on the graphical composition. very interesting approach.

Nitpicking about the tilt, the base (originally the wall) separating the lower section from the lines in the mid and top section also has a slight tilt CCW.... I think levelling it with the horizon would finish it.

Very creative approach, and a very good study of shapes and composition.

cheers,

Hugo

I fell in love with this image by looking at the thumbnail....white, black, reddish, orange, clear cut lines and an equation impossible to solve

Ah, clever to turn wrong direction! Works good as an abstract like this. I like the warm colours and the geometry!

Telmo, I read your portfolio "bio" and am quite frankly rolling my eyes, right now. You say that you like light, but you're not sure you understand it.... by looking at this, and much of the rest of your portfolio, I would say that you may not THINK you understand light...but trust me..you do. Sometimes one's understanding of a subject is only evident to those who are doing the observing.

You show amazing skill when it comes to capturing the depth of a subject, by using shadows. You exhibit mastery when presenting strong contrasts. To me, having command of lighting has more to do with the results that you consistently achieve, than having technical explainations of each lighting principal. Your body of work is creative, insightful, and wonderfully lighted. Bravo! ..Brad

Telmo Domingues   {K:9639} 8/12/2005
Ups! Brad! Don?t over do it! LOL! Thank you so much for your kind words... When I speak of lightinf and good photographies I think about Hugo de Wolf, Gerhard Hoogterp and so many other excelent photographers around here... Anyway... Thank you!
:)))))))))

I'm agree with Hugo. The choice you made to rotate your picture gives all its power and obliges us to change our mind of view..
Nicely done
