Newport, RI
Land's End/The Cliffwalk
3/19/05 5:48AM

A range of braketed exposures, from 5 seconds to 1/5th for the sky, all at f/22. I had to cover a wider range of stops than normal for this type of lighting, due to the bare, brightly lit skies. Masking the exposures in PS was also fairly difficult, but taking the 6-7 exposures really made the transition from fore to background very smooth.

I like the full depth in here being in focus... as well as the long exposure effect on the flowing water.
Good work Chris,
Khaled.

Joshua Rainey   {K:5069} 8/9/2005
Very nice shot Chris. Great job at getting a very even and natural looking exposure by blending the bracketed ones together in photoshop. That's some tricky stuff but you have done it perfectly...

Wow! Great shot. Like the blur & tone of the water & the texture of the rocks, nice lead in line too. This is the type of photo I see in British mags such as Practical Photography. Well done Chris, cheers.

Barry Wakelin   {K:7838} 8/9/2005
Nice image, reminds me of my Cap de Carteret shot! The DoF looks a little short, presumably because of the 28mm f/l which would be about 42mm-45mm with the Rebel and would put the hyperfocal distance out to a few metres. The pink in the sky's nicely done - not too overwhelming but a nice backdrop.

Me gusta muchisimo

Hi Chris, nice idea and very good PS work. Good composition with the line if water coming towards you. That is sometimes the hardest part doing that in the dark :)
Best wishes Neil

I can see how beautifully successful this picture is; my experience tells me how difficult and complicated the capture really was. Well done!
