Gorgeous....like a fairytale...I think the framing also adds to the whole package....green in contrast to black is such a nice combination. Perfection as always

Excellent composition with the cascading water spilling over the velvety moss covered rocks. The IS did a marvelous job and so did you!

Petal Wijnen   {K:47835} 8/11/2005

Lovely contrast between the sharp bright green and the running water. Without a tripod?!

Yes , Thanks for the IS ,because you will not get this stability with 1/15 shutter speed without Tripod !!
Also your shutter speed gives the water very nice effect ,realy beautiful shot, well done.
Best wishes ...

Stunning image.

Awesome capture Laurie, you are amazing..I love that IS too and would never use a tripod if i didn't have too...especially when traveling...funny how you rationalize as you're going out the door isn't it. I tell myself I'll be thankful for what I get without it...hahaha...I love the slow shutter effects on water..this is a gorgeous scene, love the greens, and the triangle in your composition, taken from a nice angle...very well seen and presented...:):)Linda

A beautiful composition with really great, saturated colours. Well done Laurie!

Excellent capture, those greens are so deep and contrast nicely against the flowing smooth water :)

Randy Lorance   {K:24958} 8/11/2005
There is nothing more peaceful and soothing than little spots like this - water trickling over moss covered rock. Nice lighting to bring out highlights, I like the dangling vines with the small round leaves.

IS has done well, Laurid, though a tripod would be better. I think you'd definitely notice the difference!

This seems like a great location. I love that little fern hanging down fro the moss on the left, it has superb tone!

Luca dF   {K:426} 8/11/2005
Great shot Laurie... finally i got my 28-135Is. by the way I took some shot of cascate... and I think with the tripod you can have more detail an a longer time that gives to the water a fine motion blur.

Darlene Boucher   {K:15634} 8/12/2005
Beautiful waterfall! Wonderful image (and taken with no tripod..that's pretty amazing!) Your details and composition are perfect, very well done Laurie!!

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 8/12/2005
This is so beautifully lush and cool looking - the green of the moss just jumps off the page! I love the trailing fern (?) on the left - like strings of pearls!
So sorry for the lack of comments recently, Laurie! Too many pictures for me to catch up on, so I have to just pick a few for now.

Thanks Dirck! Glad to see you haven't fallen off the face of the planet! I can understand about lack of time to comment. If I'm gone for even a day or two I'm amazed at how images I've missed. Take care. :)

Wonderful!!

Ha Dirck beat me to it but I also noticed the pearl like quality of the ferns... almost like a necklace strung on the rocks.

Bright vivid greens really do stand out well here and the blur on the water looks greta (although a tripod would give the ability to go even slower for even more blur and give more sharpness on the rocks too :-) ).

Super shot though Laurie!

Alastair
