Whoa! Wonderful mood created here, C!

Intersting and awesome atmosphere and expose, like a paint!

Michele Berti   {K:14921} 8/12/2005
Carsten it looks oversharpened especially on the borders of the trees and around the horses; especially the borders around the trees disturb a lot (do see the bright border all around them?).
The final effect is that overall the composition look flat lacking of DoF where everything look pretty artificial. Just my honest opinion. Take care.

Michele, thanks for constructive criticism ;-)
A bit wild PS work and the shadows stressed because I did not have my grad ND filter @ hand that moment, wide dynamic range, exposed for the highlights... Anyway, I like it just because I love those horses and the atmosphere.
Ciao
Carsten

wonderful thing happening in sky.and the both are losing themself in the clouds shadow so it is little difficult to trace them and to figure out the expressive details of their presence.
but otherwise land and sky has come good in the frame

Magnificent capture,so very striking.

Alison DuFlon   {K:36165} 8/12/2005
I love the sky in this shot, and the composition but the color of the grass seems a bit bright, is that from the polarizer? For some reason the horses seem too dark in comparison to the field. Alison

Hi Carsten,

a bit scary stuff this time... especially the trees look a bit dark in parts. good headline.

Incredibly verdant greens, Carsten!
A delightful pastoral scene.
Best regards, Chris

Hi Carsten, looks like a nice moment, and good sharpness for handheld. Be sure to watch those elements that might extend into your darkened area in PS ie: the tops of the trees on the right were darkened along with the sky. Just mask out the portion that you dont want effected by the adjustment layer.

Cheers mate,
Chris

ich hoffe Du bist mir nicht böse wenn ich sage das es mir doch etwas zu kitschig ist. :) Auch wenn es nicht meinen persn;nlichen Geschmack trifft ist es trotzdem eine sehr schönes Bild!

Marcus Armani   {K:35759} 8/13/2005
beautiful moody landscape, the sky is threatening but the beautiful hourses dont seem to mind, outstanding shot,

Mary Sue Hayward   {K:17525} 8/13/2005
Carsten, I just love your portfolio. I've been looking at it for some time now, and find your work to be consistently outstanding. You have the ability to really show the vastness of a landscape. I like that you include both a lot of foreground and a lot of sky in much of your work.

I could point to most any image and tell you what I like about it. This one is strong because of the subject matter and the balance across the image.

You also seem to have a good feel for how to use post processing to serve the photograph beautifully.

While I'm sure that you have a fan base already on this site, I hope that you develop a wide audience here. You have a lot that you can share with the community about landscapes.

By the way, I've noticed that you generously provide a lot of detail about both the shooting parameters and the post processing details in many of your posts. That is a terrific way to contribute to the learning aspects of this site. I appreciate it!

Mary, what a praise, blush...
I dont know why I never noticed one of your great photos, after about 1/2 y on UF. This comment from you means a lot, I will have a close look into your portfolio for sure.

Cheers

Carsten

How ever did I get this far behind? Now you are getting bombarded as I notice you have posted so many wonderful images since my last visit. This one is nicely composed. The green seems slightly overcooked in relation to the rest of the image, I hope you don't mind my saying. Did you saturate it or did it actually come out that vibrant? If you could throw some green up into the clouds somehow I think it would balance and have more punch.

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:178244} 8/20/2005
..great softness around the horses..
great compoisition, also I like it the square format of your shot!
cheers

You have such an amazing way of using PS. Mostly I look and see a real scene enhanced to bring out its wonderful features--often they look almost 3D. I love viewing your work. I see what some of the others mean about this picture. This one sort of tipped over the edge a bit. If I look at to see reality, it looks overenhanced. However, if I look at it from an emotional point of view it's wonderful as it expresses the truth that the love between a Mother and Child is larger than life.
