About Today I photgraphed my first Hummingbird in the wild, or anywhere else for that matter. My first shot was of this bird feeding. later it came back and landed and I got this series. Note the tongue sticking out.
This is a rather intense crop so a little detail was lost.

Very cool little bird, where on earth do you find these in the wild? They have a tongue similar to that of a butterfly. :)

Wonderful Jim, we have them all winter in Az but I have not had much success in catching them. Really like this one. Great color. Don.

First off sorry I haven't been more on the ball with my comments. Lots going on. YOu know what I mean.
Well I got a new vehicle and wanted to take a little drive. I poped over the bridge to Wisconsin, and pulled down by the boat landing, Some motion caught my eye so I pulled over to the edge of the parking lot and sat there for 1 1//2 hours. got butterflies, birds and this little guy.
In summary, " even blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile "

Wow Jim that is so cool.....
Just to get this shot and then to capture the tongue out !
I don't know that I have even seen a humming bird stop.
Get detail, I don't think the crop lost much.
I set out a feeder this weekend and we only seen one humming bird and that was right before I took it down to go home.

WOW...this is good.
about the only time I see these guys resting is when at guard of their 'stash'!

They are such interesting birds to watch.

Nice job on this image!
Lori :)
