About I think I made a technical mistake when taking this pic, although I'm not too disappointed because I like this image. Shot at 70mm.

I don't know what technical mistake you made, but this is a lovely photo. It has beautiful colors and was shot at a very good angle. This one stands out in a crowd.

Anthony I like this one as much, maybe more than the bw. It has such nice tonal colors. I was trying to think of the technical mistake, The only thing i can think of is you meant to start the focus all the way to the right and have it fade out to the left, but it if thats it it works well as it is.

Exactly Alan! I'm still getting used to my new cam - especially the manual controls (which is why I bought it in the first place!). It was sooooo damn hot last weekend and in a moment of inattention (and perspiration) I overlooked DOF. Still, as you say, it turned out OK. Thank you very much.

Rules are meant to be broken Anthony. In this case like the eye, your focus is drawn to one spot and like i said i think it works in this photo. I would be pleased to have taken this photo. Keep up the good work. And break a rule now and then.

nice colors, but I think the lines are much stronger in your B&W version.
