Superb photo. Detail on the highlit rim of the coffee cup. Even to the streaks in the ashtray where it has been cleaned. Amazing.

Hi Pat,
This one reminds my, I was going to do something similar on my dock at the cottage last week. Somehow, I didn't get around to it. maybe next time. Did you consider a whisp of smoke, and possibly a motion ripple in the coffee, or were you aiming for the look you have? I think either way works well. (Breakfast In America #2 maybe )

Hi Pat, I like the angle of this shot, nearly vertical, reducing the objects to a graphical compositioon, but allowing a feel for the geometry. Nice work, only perhaps a bit low in contrastin the cup. My preferred combination, though. Very good toning, too.

pat,
i love it! can't get the smile off my face. it seems you and i are on the same diet ;^) i'm guessing this was taken first thing in the morning since the "plate" is still clean ;^) i've been mulling around a similar idea, btw. my idea was "dinner" and uses beer instead of coffee. what do you think? this one motivates me to get it done and post it.

I love the low-key artwork on this 1... I also like the way you have a right handed smoker, while having the left handed coffee drinker...
