Strange but beautiful light.....Paul, I hope you were wearing shoes with rubber soles -LOL. Very unique and wonderful shot. Mark..... a 7 (let's hope it doesn't mess up the 6.1)

Paul Lara   {K:81886} 8/16/2005
I have figured out how to MAKE a '7' rate at what it should be.
e-mail me and I'll explain my theory. ;)

Uno scatto bellissimo, adoro i fulmini e in questo caso hai ottenuto un bellissimo effetto soft.
Add to favorites e spero tu vinca un BIP

Titus Powell   {K:1809} 8/20/2005
Awesome... I've always wanted to try lightning photography. Well captured!

Paul Lara   {K:81886} 8/20/2005
Thanks, Tom.
It's easier than you'd think. The hard part is being lucky enough to have clear sky between you and the lightning discharges. Once that's resolved, it's just a matter of tripod bulb setting, and cable release. I focus on infinity, zoom to where it might work out well, then on a low setting (ISO 100 or 200) open the shutter...and wait. As soon as there's a bolt, I close the shutter, and immediately open it again for the next exposure.

Impressive capture,Paul!...dynamic force of nature...am equally impressed with the technical know-how you explain in a reply...if i ever get a shot of lightning,it will probably be by accident while shooting a peace banner! ;> love the illumination of the clouds...good work,my friend!
regards,gayle

Larissa Nazarova   {K:12221} 8/21/2005

My regards, LArissa

George Vlahos   {K:1727} 8/22/2005
Hi Paul.
This is a great shot. Its amazing how much dynamics are added by the lightning bolt.
Well done.
Regards,
George.

AJ Miller   {K:46155} 9/2/2005
That is a most unusual lightning shot - you've got both the fork and the sheet light in the cloud. Amazing!
AJ

Cracking Shot Paul!!

I love storms as much as my 20D Baby lol. That's how much. You must tell me more about these photo comp's. I've never entered one yet, do you think I stand a chance with my photos?

Thx for your comments by the way.
