Really good portrait. Composition, tone... you've got a fair few portraits in your portfolio I like. Well done with this one.

Cheers

Bruce

Althouh seems to be in need of a bit contrast (for my taste) very good portrait. Both in terms of composition and DOF. Really good job Tony.

Thank you for your comments, this is one portrait that I'm particularly pleased with and there'll be several more of Francisco over the next few days. This was taken last night after a 40 min. walk from my house and if the light is right I'll be back with him,his goats and his dog called Rambo(!) on Wednesday light.I want to get in even closer to his face and use a variety of small f stops -f/11 f/16.

True,he does look dreadfully sad -not surprising since he spends most of his time alone with only his goats and dog for company-but he did cheer up and smile once I told him what I wanted to do and then showed him the result on camera.

Great atmosphere behind.Love those clouds and that print.
The characteristics of the blurr in the areas out of focus quite wierd. Like the lens doing its own photoshopping there.
Perhaps the guy needs a print Tony. Is there a wife beyond the hills?
