About Our local farmer was astonished to see the size of these gourds. Some kind of freak phenomenon. Notice how each has its own hammock! Two more months to harvest. Wonder how big they will getby then?

Awesome up-load Roger, I can hardly beleive the size of the gords.
It is perfectly presented in B&W in MHO!
Keep the finger on the trigger and keep these fantastic shots coming!
Best Regards

This looks quite humerous Roger. A holiday resort for Gourds no less.

Are they being grown for a specific purpose or just to how big they will grow?

Regards John

John, the farmer (as I discovered this morning) just rents this land from the landowner (a rather nice old lady whom I also met today). She likes to see good use made of the land, which is very fertile. She is sad to see it being sold, plot by plot, for housing. Gourds are a LOT of trouble to raise, but he's going to see this set through to harvest.

Gourds are among my many favourites. Their shape is seducing the eyes.(Good subject for sumi-e).Never seen them in hammocks.
Sure I would have prefered them in colours, but as such the focus is on the gourds only.
A good journalistic shot that would have drawn my eyes in any newspaper or magazine.
Best regards from Gabriela
