About I hiked into Surprise Lake today with two friends, Deiter and Dwain. This hike is unusual as very few people go here in fact the trail in is very fugitive ...hard to find .... so the whole way in we had to bushwhack in on some difficult terrain. Mostly miles of large sharp boulders perched on steep slopes making forward movement difficult and tedious. But at the end we were rewarded with this great view were we proceeded to fall on our backs and have a nap preparing ourselves for the other half...going out. I must say I am pretty wiped now, but hey, I can rest some other lifetime.

Magnific composition and lovely light play, the light highlightning the tree?s just under the mountin - it?s just so beautiful! The reflection in the water and the lines createdby the lake, small offshoot - all this make this so excellent Tim! Marvelous view.

Well worth the walk Tim. The water table looks low. Many black fly are these lakes? We have viscious little sandflies here in NZ. Still enjoying your vacation?

Regards John

Sounds quite dangerous. But the view is stupendous.
