Good to see another of your uploads, John. You've caught the low evening light perfectly. Beautiful composition and detail.
Best regards, Chris

Most people have to use a Cokin filter to produce this kind of look... Well captured! Gives a sense of the loneliness and isolation of life far from the cities.

The viewer gets what the author serves up within the confines of the frame, which by it's very nature is out-of-context.

One of the joys of photography for me is hearing what others see/perceive in my work.

In this view, two meters behind me is State Highway One. The major arterial route that traverses New Zealand from North to South. Large trucks, buses & commuters eager to get home for the weekend, rush by. Mostly oblivious to the beauty that surrounds them.

"We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows."

From Leisure by Wm. Henry Davies

Thanks for your comments Roger.

Regards John

Thanks for the Geography lesson John. This is New Zealand light at its best and you have shown mundane mail boxes to be works of art.

Nice rural shot. I like how the light catches the grass.

This is kind of an icon of the rural lifestyle and the edge of the frontiers, wherever that may be. I like the lonely, romantic feeling I get from it.

This is my favorite from your collection! It looks like a painting! I love all the warm, evening colors & awesome view. What a nice walk at sunset this would be!
