Hi Jake, Very creative idea; I do like the tdeep tnes, and the feel of the water. Going for a partially submerged disk creates not only a good base for the scene, but also an interesting effect. I'd like to return the question: What camera settings did you use? No flash, as far as I can tell. by the lack of reflection in the bubbles on the disk. I'm curious how you kept the disk in place, though. Must've removed a bit in PS, I presume.
Good work, very creative indeed.

Those are the camera settings from the exif data:
Canon/Canon EOS 10D
1/160 s, F 2
200 iso
85 mm
The CD is just supported by a corner of a washbasin, no work in PS to delete anything.
The high light have helped to eliminate the background (the washbasin is white...so..).
I have others shots of the same subject but with different exposure and with flash... just the time to edit those images and I will post it :)

Sono rimasta molto impressionata dal tuo portofolio e anche dal tuo modo critico, attento ed analitico di commentare.
Mi piacerebbe che tu dessi un occhiata a questa community www.photo4us.net perchè penso che ti potrebbe interessare un luogo senza commenti di cortesia ma con una critica fotografica di maggiore spessore.
