About Was thrilled with some shots on the camera but disappointment on the computer. Sharpening halos big time her with the high contrasting situation so selected the black and feathered it so the image could be shown.
Whatipu.

Interesting pic Ian,been looking at it for ages trying to figure out the different trees, the one in the left corner has me stumped..looks like a giant fern but it can't be that big!..which got me thinking about scale...maybe it's all an optical illusion & they're really only little plants & you're actually really close up!! Confused yet?! lol!! Jax ;)

Is this haloing a function of Slarti's [reportedly] poor image processor jpg-ing? Is there a case for shooting RAW rather than jpg?

Ian McIntosh   {K:38957} 8/22/2005
With heavy heavy contrast sharpening bad. I generally shoot in low and leave the rest to the software. The slarties were criticized for not having images sharpened enough. If I shot in Raw I could have reduced sharpening if it pissed me off. Generally I chose to shot with it low so generally that doesn?t come into play.
