About Detail of the iris - made my daughter look into the setting sun in order to get a small pupil. Adjusted the contrast and brightness on the iris area, desaturated the rest.

I still like the pigeon's eye better :-) Not to underrate your daughter, I think nature has granted more detail to a pigeon's eye.

Domjan Svilkovic   {K:3104} 8/25/2005
Wow! The level of detail is incredible!
Great shot!

Joggie van Staden   {K:41275} 8/25/2005
Thanks Kiarang - the big difference is the iris of the pigeon is stuffed with small blood vessels which, combined with rich pigment globules, give it the rich, varied colours. The pigeon's iris is also much more complex and built up out of 5 different layers. The muscles for the contraction and dilation of the pupil occur within layer no 4 of the pupil and cannot even be seen. What we see in the human Iris is the muscle fibres covered with pigment, but no blood vessels. Very interesting subject. Kind regards.

Very clear and well defined detail in her eye. Your daughter has very beautiful eyes. A very nicely taken and post-processed photo - and the type of photo that is not often seen enough of.
