About Please excuse the lack of comments!! Just back from a 3-day break in York, taking in some good friends' daughter's wedding, and so I'm way behind with comments. I'll catch up as and when I can?

I was attracted by the extreme lighting on the roof of York station as my wife and I took a last walk round part of the city?

Hope you enjoy it!!

Have a good week everyone!!

Best regards to all,

Chris

P.S. I'm putting it in the 'photoart' category as I cloned out a rather large lamp-post!!! See below?

Very interesting Chris, nicely composed and as you said interesting light. Don.

Steve Sowerby   {K:279} 8/28/2005
Great pic - only dogs watching would prefer it with the lamp post .....

ade mcfade   {K:12388} 8/28/2005
it's a great station to shoot isn't it? Those arches make great patterns, especially when you get inside. really glows then

never seen it shine like this though, usually in the pub by this time - that could explain it :-)

Merete Westerdahl   {K:11046} 8/28/2005

beautiful sunset, excellently captured, Steve
the golden light and the blue sky really wonderful
nice job removing the lamp post :)

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 8/28/2005
Well?

I guess I did boost the saturation and contrast just a little, but apart from that?

Thanks for the comment, Merete!!

Hugs, Chris

I have to agree that the lampost looks better out than in. And I also prefer your colours to the original ones. I've been in York more times than I can remember, but never saw it from this perspective. Well seen.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 8/28/2005

Love what you did here. GR8 job,
the saturation and levels are perfect!

And the sun shining on the 'arches' (for want of a better word)....

Chris this is really nice
Some great PS work but its the light hitting the station that makes this a winner

Larry Quigley   {K:12884} 8/29/2005
Beautiful lighting, Chris. I love the contrast of the golden lighted horizon and building to the blue sky. You were certainly right to get rid of the lamp post. It becomes the subject when you leave it in. Well done! Cheers, Larry.

Rosario Esposito   {K:9796} 8/30/2005
Ottima la luce perfetti sia il taglio che i colori.

Hi Chris, the light is fantastic here, it looks sometimes like gold:)

best regards, Pia

Mary Brown   {K:68582} 9/10/2005
The lighting on the building is so pretty. I like the way it matches the nearby sky and then how the sky changes to theb beautiful blue and white. The lamp post absolutely had to go and your work surely boosted the beauty of the scene.
Mary

Den Thompson   {K:30432} 9/11/2005
A glorious image which you just knew I'd have to comment on Chris. That roof is a fantastic structure. Gone to my favs. Only one thing missing - a wisp of smoke or steam to the left side. Ahhh, that's just me wishful thinking again.
Den
