This is a great capture, i was at the zoo the other day & went to the bird show & tried to capture some of the beauties but with no luck, you came to mind, you are amazing how you capture them they are to fast for me.

It's understandable that this bird took your attention from capturing landscapes to getting a good shot of him...and you def. did. You really have a talent for wildlife photography, and I hope to be able to purchase some higher quality lenses in the near future, so as to have a chance at capturing photos such as yours.

Thanks Chris, you really do have a great portfolio now, I know the 300D well as my wife shoots with it, does very well all around but you need to move to the 350XT to get the AI servo for tracking. I am just starting doing macro and i see you have some really nice shots there also..

Hello Marcus. I wish to thank you for your comment. There are many photographers who post macros and many are exceptional.This particular photo caught my eye,because of the sharpness of the hawk in flight. The lens you have can greatly reduce camera shake with it's built-in Image Stabilizer function. But also requires proper camera setup by you. Excellent.

Thanks Thomas, I dont really use the IS much for birds in flight, when your shooting at 2000 shutter speed I dont think it helps, so I typically turn it off as it slows downd the AF. but is great for low light situations..

Your birds are fabulous. You have so many terrific shots, you make it look like it might be easy to not only capture a bird in flight but to capture the wonderful details of the bird as well. We know it is not easy to do at all. This is marvelous, as usual. He looks very focused on where he wants to be with that determined look on his face.

Glancing through your hawk pics tonight, this one caught my eye. Do you know the species? With the long, slightly rounded tail, square shoulders, white terminal tail band and bulky flight feathers I wondered if this might be a Cooper's hawk. Great portfolio, Markus.
