About This is the first mosque built in Egypt more than 1410 years ago .It was renovated and widened several times during its long history .This mosque was named after Amr Ibn Elas the great islamic leader who captured Egypt from the Eastern Roman Impire .He built this mosque at the first Egyptian Islamic capital called Elfustat ( Currently it is part of greater Cairo )

Excellent angle and composition Sherif... I really like that you used a wide angle lens in here to include the columns on both the right and left passage ways but I wish you were just 1/2 a meter ahead so as to include the left passage totally and excluding this distracting column at the same time.
Anyway, that's one of the wonderful photos I ever seen to the mosque my friend, bravo,

Welcome back Khaled .I hope you enjoyed your vaction.
Unforunately the left passage in locked by plastic wall was built to assign isolated place for women prayers .Part of this wall appear at the end of the left passage .

This is Amr Ibn Elas mosque .Ibn Tolon Mosque is different but have nearly similar design.I have some photos of this beautiful mosque and will post it for your review when I return back to Cairo.
