Way 2 go,Linda! thanks for your comment to me,too..still waiting for the help notice to be posted on the frontpage...am baffled as to why it isn't there yet? maybe server problems...?

now, this is a very striking rose image...i like the placement with that diagonal, but i especially think the light casting subtle shadows makes this one stand out...i like that the rose is more closed than full out and the clarity is very good...UF was offline for hours earlier,so just getting to comments ...take care,lady...regards,gayle

Liz

Beautiful photo, Linda, and such a worthy plea in your about!
I love the way the light has picked up the delicate folds and contours of the perfect rose and contrasts it so nicely against the rocks. The vignetting is a perfect added touch, focusing the attention even more on the flower, and adding an appropriate touch of sadness as well. Nicely done, mi amiga!!

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/2/2005

This is beautiful Linda, Simplistic beauty at its finest, I love the lighting and shadows not often seen in florals, the soft detailed red rose is perfect against the nice texture of the background, nice DOF.. You all are going to have to forgive me on the Red Cross thing, I had just won a photo contest with a birding magazing which had a first prize of a canon 1Ds MKII or a Nikon D2X, and after they notified me talked me well almost forced me to donate that to there relief fund, so I figure 7k is enough, I did get my $15 entry fee back :)..
Take care, Marcus..

P. Christine Skinner   {K:27338} 9/3/2005
Something beautiful dropped, left behind and forgotten. Magnificent lighting catching the soft velvety texture of the petals and the almost smooth worn look of the rocks. The slight vignetting was an excellent touch and really focuses on the deep rich red of the rose.

Neil Dolman   {K:26883} 9/3/2005
Beautiful Linda, i just caught this reading through the comments. Excellent photo and really sharp! Nice work and a nice gesture. I hope it helps!
