This is so touchy, really,
I know exactly how do you feel, specially i've been living outside Egypt for almost all my life, Still lost connection with many many old friend,
I used to Exchange mails for years, not any more after using the internet and the E-mails,
Btw, did you try google your friend's name?
This helped me reaching many old friend,

I did once searched her father's name and found his email but not anymore since I changed my pc and lost some addresses.
