About They're Chinese citizens, but are more identifiable as ethnic Tibetans. These people were part of a colourful group I met inside the Labrang Monastery. Tibetans are characterized by their brightly coloured and heavy clothing (worn daily, not just for tourists), and a friendly demeanour.

They are a motley lookin crew James. I like the texture of the wall aainst their colourful clothes.
Is that Adidas track top trditional costume for Tibetans also??

* James *   {K:20142} 9/8/2005
wez, unlike western countries, tibetans do not make use of artifical textiles for their native costume. there were few baseball caps and no high top basketball sneakers here. all items worn here (minus adidas material) are out of necessity, for warmth and the carrying on of tibetan culture.

warmest regards ~ james
