Nice black and white tones Thilo, I really like the patterns, and the use of positive and negative space...nice light and shadows too, it's very pleasant to look at, I was just looking and trying to think of my deepest wish, gosh that's a tough one..but I found it relaxing to look at....Are you living in Germany or New York? I recently found out that I'm 70% German so I find myself interested in learning more about Germany. Nice abstract Thilo...:):)

Hi Linda,
well, I live in Nuernberg - Germany. I've been to fantastic New York for three times the last years. There comes the confusion ;-)
70% German? Than you're more German than a lot of people here ;-) You may try your German if you like - I love the get German comments as well.

GREAT shot Thilo...hmmmmmm, deepest wish? whirled peas perhaps...a D2X if i'm feeling selfish.
your dealing with the bad lighting looks good to my eyes. i like the spots where the neighboring wishes overlap...is that where people are wishing for the same thing?

This is a very nice capture,
About my wishes ... hmmmm 3 words,
Love .. Health .. Wealth, ordered according to priority :)
I got the first one .. working on the second one, dreaming about the third one hehehehhe ..
About the capture, I would say it came out just fine in spite of the difficult lighting condition,
But the only think i am not sure about is the Soft edges, I am sure this is due to the 2fstop, I would say having all the cadre sharp would look better, but this is of course my humble opinion,
Beside that, it is a very nice capture Thilo, keep em coming,

Great concept and beautiful idea my dear Thilo... Love how you turn something so simple into a great picture... About the wishes... Well I have many... But most of all I wish to have good health always... With that I can fullfil hundreds of wishes... always working hard to make them worthwhile...

Hi Thilo! Wish ... I could read all the lines! Nice idea and execution! Some notes are pretty empty, some writers maybe think that a heavy exclamation point makes the wish(es) easier come true?
My deepest wish is that my children are happy and enjoy this short life as much as possible :)
BTW ... what?s yours?

ich mag es sehr wie die übereinander liegenden Wünsche besonders hell hervortreten...dadurch wirkt es dreidimensional...und immer wieder andere Ecken fordern meine Aufmerksamkeit...
schade das man nicht lesen kann...

This reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Interestingly, although the photo is stark and simple, when surrounded by all the colourful beauty of some other shots in my friends box, I felt compelled to view this one first. It makes you think!!
As far as wishes go, it is difficult for me to express, maybe something will pop up later.

Hey very intelligent concept...more than i first thought. When i saw the thumbnail, i thought it's a pile of logs that have been shot but when i click it full size, it turned out to be wall of wishes..
My wish::I 2 should be abl eto think somethings as creative in life.

I love the concept with the wall of wishes. I did have one thought-maybe taking one of the papers and holding it up close to the camera-so that the viewer can read it-and have it written as, "I wish that..." and have nothing follow-so that the viewer can finish the sentence themselves. Just a thought. Love it~

thanks for your honest feedback. As for the detail: Image the most evil lighting situation, and you're not even near the settings I had to cope with. So: yes, I agree, but no: it wasn't posssible at all to get a better shot under these circumstances.
As for the framing: What would help the image if not the gray border?

I am not by any means an expert and this is just my opinion:
How about a very thin black border to add some definition.
But again I have to say I don't know best and don't preted too either. I like to view and admire other people's work and if I can I try to give honest feedback and advise.
